when wellness and spirituality collide
When I first began working in the wellness world in the late nineties, it looked very different. It wasn’t connected to spirituality.
Wellness came from health and lifestyle movements - nutrition, physical fitness, stress management and preventative care. It was about improving wellbeing and maintaining balance in daily life.
Spirituality, on the other hand, grew from something deeper. It was about awakening, transformation, connection with the divine and exploring the mysteries of life.
Nothing changes until you stop running…
You can’t outrun yourself forever. Believe me, I tried.
Lately I’ve been reflecting on the importance of integration as a spiritual practitioner and teacher.
We live in a time when it’s so easy to become a spiritual butterfly — fluttering from one modality to the next: a ceremony here, a medicine there, a new coach or retreat, clutching at straws, hoping the next thing will fix us.
